Lexington Mayor John Walser was appointed and City Manager John Gray was
reappointed to N.C. League of Municipalities legislative action committees
Wednesday.

Walser will join High Point City Council member Latimer Alexander as
representatives from the League's ninth district on the finance and
administration legislative action committee. Walser replaces former
Thomasville Councilwoman Marie Culbreth as the representative to the
committee.

According to the NCLM, the finance and administration committee "focuses on
revenues, electric deregulation, finance, personnel, retirement, open
meetings, public records, liability, ethics, elections, eminent domain,
economic development incentives and technology" issues.

Gray was reappointed to the League's planning and services legislative
action committee, which "focuses on utilities, land use planning, housing,
the environment (air, water, solid waste), public safety, emergency
response, transportation, ordinance enforcement and building codes," issues.
