Lexington Annexation Draft Timeline
1. Adopt resolution of consideration (adopted at March 26, 2007, city council
meeting)
2. Adopt resolution of intent and approve services report and plans (available
for city council adoption at April 14 meeting)
3. Mail first-class notice to property owners (first week in May)
4. Combined newspaper notice of public information meeting and public hearing
- two notices required (last two weeks in May)
5. Public information meeting June 3rd, 7:00PM Edward C. Smith
Civic Center
6. Public hearing July 8th 7:00PM Edward C. Smith
Civic Center
7. Adopt annexation ordinance (summer 2008)
8. Effective date of annexation (June 30, 2009)
